HELP needed regarding ups
recently i upgraded my system from PIII 850MHZ, 256 Mb sdram, 20GB seagate HDD to
P4 2.4 (prescot) 1Md cache, 256 Mb Hynex 333 DDR Ram, 20 Gb HDD from old system & a new 40 Gb samsung HDD, smsung 52-32-52 CD writer, Techcom 350 Watts SMPS, Techcom cabnet with 2 chassis fans (80 MM) one in side pannel and another exhaust below the SMPS.
i hv retained the old moniter samtron 55E and old (2 years) copper concation 500 VA Ups)
now my problem is although my ups gives me backup of about 15-18 minutes for the system.
but when it is on battery mode and i switch of the moniter to conserv battery (for some more time if i am doing some urgent work like copieng files). when i switch it on again the system reboots.
this dos'nt happen when there mains present.
what could be the proublem SMPS or battery (it is giving me the backup of 15 minutes)
secondly can i add a SATA HDD & DVD Rom to excisting setup
will power supply take the load it (350 Watts)

help needed urgent

its just that ur ups gets overloaded with the sudden suge from puttin the monitor on
therefore it restarts .. in the process rebooting ur computer
yes u can add sata and dvd rom
dvd rom is no problem
for sata make sure ur mobo supports sata or ull have to get a pci sata card
if u dun have sata for now i suggest u stick to PATA
power supply is the min anyone would recommend u
so yeah itll take the load well enuff
