net gets disconn or conn goes dead

Over the past several days my tata indicom wireline net has been very bad !!

Gtalk and yahoo chat gets disconn frequently and line goes dead !!
!! And worst still messages sent frm either end get lost in the network !!
If my friend or I send a IM, the other party never gets it over IM. Neither of us have a clue as to the messages not getting delivered !!! This leaves both me n my friends on the chat wondering why either party is not responding to imp queries !!!
To add to it Internet itself gets disconn ever 10-30 Mins.

The Tata Indicom fellow has no clue abt this and says there is no problem with the local switch as no one else in my area is facing the same issue.
I tried disabling the firewall for a couple of days, (silly thing to do) still the issue persists coupled with a host of spywares invading in my PC.

wat cud be the reason ??
any one faced such a issue b4?

^^ Thats a either a leftover entry of a virus removed, or its still present. You can safely remove it using HijackThis.

And btw .. Does Google Webaccelerator does work ? I thought the software was for broadband only ?

Google Webaccelerator does not work even on my 256kbps conn .. i installed jus yday to chk if it prefetches pages while my net connection is idle and prevents my net frm getting into a dead/dormant mode ...
it doesnt .. so i m gona uninstall it ...

search google for netapi.dll & netapi32.dll. replace the two files in windows\system32 folder. might work. can't take any guarantee.

now something wierd ... i connected my bro's lappy directly (normally this lappy shares net frm my PC with PC as server) with internet gateway... n there is no trouble for the past 1 hr.
virus scans do not result in anything in my PC... any idea wats up with my ???

I Know What You Did Three Weeks Back.

On topic, you can actually try taking that LAN card out and trying the internet with your PC only. If there is no problem, put it back. My friend had a somewhat similar problem with his BSNL BB, where his internet would be extremely slow. I found out that the problem was because he was sharing his phone, that is, he split it into his bedroom and the hall. Anyway, try that out.
