You can use HTTP Tunnel. I have tried it and it works like cheese!!

get it from here
http://www.http-tunnel.com/HTTP-Tunn...11-14-2004.exe

If all you want to use is Y! messenger, then u dont need to bypass proxy.

Run Y! messenger
Go to Messenger > Preferences
Go to Connection
Select Firewall with no proxies
Click Apply and OK and login

Hope this helps you.

ferrarif50:

Some corps block access to yahoo MSN and other messengers. So just saying no proxies will not work in that case.

Secondly tunneling will not work if yahoo messenger and the tunneling software is on the same machine. Setup ur tunneling software on a different machine and point yahoo messenger to that machine and it will work.

I am working in a leading IT firm, with strict proxy servers....doing what I have mentioned in Yahoo! works....everybody does that here. Its known. I also tried HTTP Tunnel and it too worked.

lol...dude...well if yahoo works great for u (wonder how I managed to block yahoo messenger at my work then hmmmm ). No issues here. As for the http tunneling I mentioned that it will not work if both the tunneling software and yahoo messenger reside on the same machine. This also well documented by yahoo. They are doing this due to security related issues. All you need to do is install http-tunnel on another machine and point yahoo to that and it will work fine. Never did I mention that it will not work.

To access websites, u dont need these high end tools. simply use this web based anonymous proxy server.

http://brocoli.my.free.fr/Proxy/

it does a good job!

ferrarif50,

I have tried all the variants of these types of sites that you have given above.

But unfotunatelyt I am unable to access the sites that I want to as there is a firewall blocking certain content.

So will this HTTP - Tunnel help me bypass it.
