how to change drive letters

i recently uninstalled ubuntu and installed xp on the partition. the windows when it installed gave it name e: and the previously d : drive it made c:.how can i change windows drive to c: which is now e:

Go to Run and type compmgmt.msc
Select Disk Management option from left and select your drive.
Now right click on drive and select Change Drive letter and paths.
Now assign a new drive letter and click Ok.

or you could simply type diskmgmt.msc and do the same thing.

it says windows cant change drive letter of boot volume

You can't change the drive letter of the system or boot drive (ex C..

go to disk management console from control panel-> administrative tools-> computer management. There by right clicking on any drive u can change drive letter
