Default Bout Damaged TNT2

Had bought a TNT2 card some 2 to 3 years back.
Didnt check the package at the vendors place.
N guess what when i opened it some 10-15 days later i discovered
the card was damaged.
A small piece at the corner of the board was cracked n was missing.
The vendor just refused to claim responsibility .
I felt cheated.
Still installed the card to see it it worked.
Well it did work on booting i could see the gpu bios screen which
said the card was a TNT2 M64.
But the manual read it was a TNT2 Ultra n not M64.
Installed the drivers but could never get more than 16 colours.
In every session i was getting the message that there is a problem
with the driver .
Tried everything n also the system was very heavy .
CPU usage is always 100% even in 16 colours.
Doesent hog the cpu in safe mode.
The cpu is free if i use the generic VGA driver.
But as TNT2 it hogs the cpu n crashes after some time.

Havent used the card since then.
Any clues?

why dont you try going to www.nvidia.com and get the drivers to download. If the card is woking and you are getting the display its perfectly fine .Your problems with the 16 colors and 100% cpu usage is probably due to installation of faulty drivers. Should be working ,i feel bad for you too .I faced such problems with vendors too , not to worry buddy .

The simplest solution is:
U sed dat a edge of ur card has been chipped off. check if at that area , earlier had any printed circuit wiring. If yes, scrape that tiny area with a blade to remove the printed citcuit board cover (usually graan in color. and solder those wires with thin low resistance DC wires. Probarbly, there originally existed some jumper cables that removed stray voltages from the GPU. Mail me I'll give u da details on how to do that. Reg the drivers , You'll find 'em @ www.driverguide.com . Bye (^.^)
