DVD writer not playing movies well..

whener i play a DVD movie or anything which accesses my DVD writer .. the computer becomes very slow..movie playback is very sluggish// and the entire system just crawls.. wht d reason???? is my dvd writer d culprit??

is ur problem recent or old 1

if recent wat was d last thing u did b4 u noticed d problem?

is ur DVD drive SATA or PATA?

if PATA does it have a HDD attached to the same channel as the DVD writer

if yes - bad idea

also how much RAM u got - muvees are transferred to RAM b4 playback

its not a SATA writer but a IDE writer ..earlier everything was ok.. now only its is causing problem/.

did u attach a HDD to the same cable the DVD writer is attached

also what did you do b4 u strted notcin d problem
