Setting up VPN

I want to setup a VPN between my system and my friend's system. I've decided to use Hamachi and Ultra VNC Client for this purpose. If there
r ne other better tools then suggest. My main aim here is to allow easy File transfer between the two systems. I want to know that the is data
transferred between the two system be considered as Internet traffic therefore charged for by the ISP or what? I 've unlimited connection so no problem for me but my friend has limited one. Also are the speeds gonna be according to our ISP subscription plan or what?

i can confirm that since you are using the internet gateway provided by your ISP the data transfer will be counted by your friends ISP and speeds will be as provided by your ISP.
i dont know how to create a VPN .. may b someone else can help

Thanks, just wanted to know about the traffic accountability. For setting it up I hope I can manage that, for Toubleshooting I'll just shoot the questions to u guys
