Default START UP CD

how to make a start up cd . i need the menu to be an .exe file rather than a .html , so that i can pop up the set up files to install directly rather than downloading it to the pc (the default win download alert box).which is caused by href=some.exe

Any one please suggest a free of paid software to do this

The thing you are looking out for is called AutoRun. Follow the procedure below :

1. Make a new text file in the root directory and rename it to autorun.inf.

2. Open the file with notepad and add the following lines to it :

[autorun]
open=The_File_You_Want_To_Run.exe
Icon=Display_Icon_When_CD_Is_Inserted.ico

3. Save the file and exit notepad.

Now burn the cd and you should be able to autorun the desired file.

Hi
The name of the exe file is the setup file u wanted to install... So when u insert the CD in the autorun enabled system, it starts the installation... Is this what u want...?

OR

Simple Cd DVD Menu v1.2

Simple CD/DVD Menu is an autorun menu for data CDs and DVDs,
mostly useful for software storage and installation. As it's
name suggests, it is very simple to use, but it even includes
a full tutorial for people who prefer to have a walkthrough.

In addition to running any file type from your menu (executables,
documents, videos, etc.), you can also add web and e-mail links.
All editing is done in a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get)
environment, meaning that as you edit your menu you will see
exactly how it will look when it is run from CD/DVD.

You can actually use it as a file menu system for any storage
device, such as portable hard drives and USB flash memory drives.

Easily:
Put together shareware compilation CDs/DVDs
Design driver backup discs
Combine many software installation CDs into a single menu
