Question Two Questions

1. I have Win XP, I need to scan for viruses & use spybot the Windows startup files. How do I do it, no safe mode ?

2. How do I kill & remove Trojan Horse Downloader.Small.61.N, the path is d:\windows\loadnew.exe

Quote:
Loadnew.exe is Trojan/Backdoor. Kill the process Loadnew.exe and remove Loadnew.exe from Windows startup.

my exp with 2000 has been that any prog written for XP has aso worked for 2000 without hitch

so i assume the reverse to hold true too. u cud give it a try. dont 4c a magor problem. the max being program not running on XP

but
if u still hesitant, try booting in through Safe Mode with Command prompt and delete the file from the location

also try 2 boot usin Step-by-step confirmation (tho not sure if this option appears durin XP boot) and delete he file

the offendin process may not have started during such boot option as they load only the critical processes

You can use the KILL BOX application if the file path if known from the existing scan report. You use the remove at "start up" option.
