hard disk based HD handycam are low in configuration within even 25k. editing is also a headache. I recommend always miniDV.

I like this model- DCR-HC96E Its awsome.

can please tell me what is the basic difference between hard drive based & miniDV. Also I dont want a DVD based solution as it can store very less time of video.

I've got a sony dcr-sr60 HDD handycam and i'am very satisfied with.

it directly capture in dvd compatible format so i can burn dvd's directly.30 gb HDD on it supports 10hrs of high quality video and 15 hrs of low quality video.
but still picture quality is not so good.only 1 mega pixel and no flash.so better get a good digital still cam.

me too bought it from US and do get it there but it captures in NTSC format so it will be a bit of trouble viewing in Indian televisions.

it cost me ~$600. in India it was abt 42,000-/.
