Bypassing Proxy server

I am in a hostel and we are provided LAN through which w can access internet using a proxy server and Cyberroam Client. It does not allow us to open All type of messengers or any chat sites. Is there any software through we can use instant messengers.

that would be against the policy of ur institute so im sure we cant help u with it ..
ill have to ask the others and raaabo for this it seems to pop up a lot
