![]() Hotmail cofounder Sabeer Bhatia has done it again, mentoring a new Indian Product company that could seamless add powerful real time collaboration features to familiar desktop applications. Called ''Instacoll'' the company today announced the launch of its application Instacoll, an on line collaboration solution designed to expedite the task of sharing documents and information across multiple stake holders and locations. Company Chief Executive Officer Sumanth Raghavendra and Bhatia told newsmen here that the beta launch of the application product on Microsoft office suite were already on with a number of Indian companies and from today it was available freely for any users to test it out before the commercial launch next month. IBM had already agreed to provide Instacoll facility in its new x series of computers and the formal announcement is scheduled next week, Raghavendra said. Bhatia said Instacoll seamlessly converts mainstream productivity application such as Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point into real time, interactive collaborative platforms that allowed teams of people to work on a shared document over the internet as if they were in the same physical location and looking at the same data. Admitting that he had made a major investment in the company, Bhatia declined to come out with the quantum of investment and said that the second round of investment would take place soon. He said ''while e-mail is the de facto business communication mechanism, its store and forward nature introduces latencies and delays in an internet centric business environment. Instacoll had been architected to add an immediacy factory to the information sharing process by enabling instant collaborative sessions'' he said adding that Instacoll's one button simplicity enabled users to launch powerful collaboration sessions with a single click from right within their favourite microsoft office application. He said Instacoll is designed to support ad hoc, on demand collaboration opportunities in an intuitive, easy to way. With its introduction users now have an inexpensive way to immediately share presentations and documents in both high and low bandwidth environments. He said Instacoll aspires to be the first made in India product success story. Instacoll aimed to develop and provide software and services that would transform the internet into a personal medium for direct communication and interaction. photo courtesy:thehindu.com Article courtesy:sify.com
