I am facing a ‘Power Calibration Error’ with my new Sony DVD RW DRU-530A. The problem arises when I try to burn a Blank DVD 1X- 4X media with 4X speed. Whereas during burning the same disk with 2x Speed, it seams to be working properly. What is ‘Power Calibration Error’?

i have the same drive, but never heard of this error. Allocate some more RAM to the burning tool u're using and try different media. I burn at 4X on MoserBaer and no probs. btw, what format DVD were u burning?
I am using MATRIX DVD-R for Data burning.
I have also tested this disk with nero disk speed. TEST POSITIVE.

@ sourabh : if i am not missing the power caliberation error is due to bad media.
it has nothing to do with writer, the laser force of the writing beam can not judge the media strength so it is giving the power caliberation error. so get a good branded media and leave aside crap unbranded media.
i had same error with my moser baer cd and after a few hours my cd writer died. so be careful using your writer carefully eventhough it is dvd writer.
