Installing Problem

I have

Intel Q6600
Asus p5k premium
3 gb ram
250 gb hdd
msi r3650

when I tried to format hdd partition in ntfs for installing window xp in my hdd
it told that it is unable to format hdd and pls select select another drive for installing .when i select another partition ,it agains same problem "Press F3 to quit".

Can anynody tell me what is the problem?????
