Default Which one to buy

Hey friends,

I am a nerbie. Help me to buy my new PC
(budget max. 40,000)

My Config (Don tell me if something better is available) Assemble only

Samsung Flat Monitor
160 GB HDD (Which is good?)
1 GB Ram (Which is good?)
Creative Speakers
Logetic Mouse and Keyboard
DVD writer (Pionner or Liteon which is good?)
Graphics Card able to play games like Doom 3, Half life 2 (budget under 8000)
Cabinate (good one having 3 space for new drives and 1 more for floppy)

Is anything free like games with graphics card or assemble computers
free like Tv turners

HDD:
Seagate is good and IMO better than anyother brand. But for 160gb or higger disk capacities, u might be noisy or make "wrring" sounds.
Maxtor is another option.

DVD writers:
Liteon make Sony optical drives, so there may not be much of any difference between the two. Anyway my suggestions:
1. Benq 16X burner : Benq 1600/1620 ->Same drive (1600), can be flashed into the 1620 (done by the company themselves) , officially using a Benq sanctioned firmware.Superb reviews out at CDRLabs and CDFreaks, indicate this is "THE" drive to own.
Cost: rs. 4500
2. Sony 720-b
A very good drive, only the second best after benQ
Cost: rs. 4.8k
3. LG-4120B and 4160B
The good thing about LD drives is the can write almost all formats, including DVD- RAM

Cost: 5K

ok i think doc gave sum gud info.. as for other i can suggest it.. since u have a budget of 40 K

Monitor..

LG 17 INCH FLAT Rate (7,400)
or if u want LCD.. 15 Inch Samsung (13,200)
HDD SAMSUNG 160 GB (5250)
Hynix 1GB @400 MHz (6,600)
FX 5200 GFX card (3700)
Sony 16X DVD writer (5500)

as for keyboard, mouse and speakers id recomend u to go to normal ones m8.. say a an ordinary multimedia Keyboard is gud.. and a mouse say optical mouse from logitech or Microsoft bout 800 bucks.. and speakers.. well u want creative.. sorry i dunno much bout em..

well u dint ask for mobo and processer info.. is 40K inclusive of that? if so ill recomend the below

go for a AMD Athalon 64 2800+ (5250)
as for mobo go in for Asus K8S-MX (4600)

so this comes to bout 38300 i suppose.. so for the remainin go in for the key board and mouse as i said for max 1K.. and remain a speaker..

Yes. I'm testing a computer based on an A64 3000+ that I assembled a couple of days ago and it rocks. It costs more than 65k, but it's for a specific application and has some features not needed for general use, such as a 19-inch flat-tube monitor, two hard disks, etc.

With your limited budget, do you really need 1GB RAM ? For a general-purpose machine, I suggest getting 512MB and spending the money saved on a better graphics card. The difference will be much more noticeable.
