automatic logoff wi-fi?

i have a pc on which i'm running vista ultimate. a attatched a linksys compact wireless-g usb adapter. now when i connect my laptop(which is also running vista ultimate) to it in ad-hoc mode, the network automatically diconnects within 15-20 mins. i'm in a fix! pl help! and thanx in advance.

wat is the name of the wireless card in the laptop? have u been able to go onlne perfectly with the laptop wireless card?
u can try something like this..
go to device manager, under network adapters u will find the name of the wireless card of rspective computers. right click on them clivk on uninstall. a box will come up, MAKE SURE U DO NOT CHECK THE BOX WHICH SAYS DLETE DRIVER SOFTWARE. wait for sometime and the divers will get uninstalled and once again will get installed autmatically.
then try and see whther u have the same problem or not.

it has an inbuilt wi-fi...but when i connect my lan wire for the net connection to the laptop, it works perfectly fine...so dont really know whats happening?
