Mine's 10A too and I think the stability is affected due to that. Are you experiencing random restarts and system freezes?

@sunnydiv : What's your PSU's wattage rating ?
For the same total wattage, the distribution of power among the different rails may be slightly different in different models/brands. But in general, the 12V rail of a 300-400W PSU would be rated for approx 15A or so. A rating of 10A would more likely be found on a 200-250W PSU.

You did not mention the OS, amount of RAM, CPU, HDD model & rpm, etc which all have an effect on such operations. E.g., copying files is much slower with Win98 than with WinXP. An inadequate PSU is not likely to be the reason.

BTW, right now I'm using a 300W PSU to run an Athlon 64 3000+, 1GB RAM, two 120GB HDDs, DVD writer, CD-writer, video capture card with TV tuner, FX5200. No crashes.

I admit that the PSU rating is a bit marginal and I may decide to change it. But it's doing fine now.
