Unhappy What is the resolution?

Using LG DV 259N.....DIVX movies are becoming compressed from sides causing distortion.
If I want to convert those movies to fit screen & avoid elongated images what resolution should I use?
Is there any software to find movie resolution?
Thanks in advance.

Yes... you can get details, like suppose in Vista, just right click on the file and go to the properties and then Details TAB which will show you what you need to see !!!

for example, this is what I have ripped from my Forest Gump DVD using AutoGK

well its not vice varsa, you have to use the original source and you cant actually obtain better resolution than the source

so if its the DVD then MAX would be 704 width now if you want higher then you have to think for obtaining High Defination sourse which would come with width at lowest at 1200 px

I already have written that its not possible unless you have the original source it is not vice varsa, so once you reduce it, u cant actually once again increase it back from the reduced source without quality loss

To get technical and tag info of any video or audio file, install a small freeware program Media info.Details on http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en It installs "media info" in the right-click with which you can get a wealth of info on your media files.
