Default how to disable the floppy drive startup scan ?


since i almost dont use the floppy drive, how can i disable the scan which my xp does on every start-up ? i understand that there is a setting/tweak somewhere ? this will also save my start-up time, i guess. does anyone know, pls ?

The entry in bios where it checks for floppy drive has to be set to NO.

when u switch on the computer press the DEL key to enter the Bios.. there under PCI/PNP select disabled option for Floppy disk controller.. then save the changes by pressing F10 and then exit.. now restart the comp ur floppy drive is disabled.. also its the same way to enable it..

When you turn on your pc, enter into BIOS by pressing apropriate key ( generally DEL ) , go to Advanced options, here you can enable or disable Boot Up Floppy Seek.....
