Wink Fool & Final Question about my HDD.


Dear Users,
Is there any way to remove bad sector form HDD.

I have Segate 160 Gb
I have tried to remave bad sector by using HDD Regenerator..
HDD Regenerator shows 1 bad sector recovered but i did not think so..

is there any perfect way than this...

please help me its urgent...

AFAIK there r no sw that can remov bad sectors

but if u lookin for ways to stop the use of the sectors gone bad then u may usetake a look at this thread HDD gone bad any bad sector repair tool???

^^ There is no way you can remove physical bad sectors. Normally if you format / repartition a hard disk, all the bad sectors will be gone.

Now understand what bad sector mean .. Your operating system marks a sector bad if it suspects the data written on it will be lost. So the idea is to mark that sector bad so that no data will be written on it and hence not lost ..

Bad sectors (not physical bad sectors) can come due to abnormal shutdown, bad power management. So if your bad sector comes again after you've formatted the disk, get yourself a new one ..

Once bad sectors have started appearing, even though you can temporarily overcome the problem by marking them by scanning or formatting, the problem is bound to recur and increase and hence the wise option is to replace it.
