Problem With 'Folder Option'

Hiiiiiiiii.............My pc got affected by some viruses n disabled 'Show Hidden Files' option in 'Folder Option'.............Now I hav removed them succesfully n till d problem persists...........Whenever I choose 'Show Hidden Files/Folders' option frm 'Folder Option', it doesnt gets applied.............what you think what could be the problem??? Do I hv to format my PC???? One of my frnd told that "The virus has infected your system files n when you removed the virus the system files got removed automatically"..............Is this true?????????

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
here set the checked value to 1

this will enable the show hidden files
