Dont get what you really want to ask?

Are you intrested in buying a domain? Domain is just a name that you give to your site.

And bloggers blog no you cant. I mean to host any blog or site you need hosting along with domain. And blogger blog does not provide independent hosted blogs as i know. You can try wordpress in that case.

Or else What you can do is buy a domain and forward it to your bloggers blog. That can be easily done

Blogger can be on a domain provided you buy the domain from Google!

It costs $10/yr to buy it from Google. Its much higher than other prices.

You could also register a domain from somewhere else and point it to blogger to get it working.

to use your domain name for blogspot..you need to have DNS control of your domain name.

Yaa....I was giving free hosting..but I am no more giving free hosting now. Earlier I was on cheap AMD server, so free hosting was affordable. But you know, cheap is always attractive in start, but gives problem after some time. So, I shifted to another powerful server. And I cant afford to give free hosting on my new Dual CPU Quad Core Clovertown Xeon (8 logical CPU's). Now I am very relaxed.

hey guys, what is the difference between a Domain name registrar and Domain name re-seller

AFAIK a Domain name registrar is authorised by ICANN to sell domain names

So does that mean a Domain name re-seller is something like a cyber-squatter, who has bought a number of domain names n bulk and is now offering to sell it to you for profit

@ravi
wha doe your Reseller Hosting Plans mean
is it like you have already bought a domain name from godaddy and now can host his/her site o your servers using that domain name

in simple words, its like a middle man between the company and the customer. the company pays the reseller for selling the products.

so is it not better to opt for a domain name from an authorised registrar (like godaddy), so that you can save money by cutting out the middle man?

so any particular reason why re-sellers are still operating?

Except for maybe, that, they offer a complete package of Domain Name+hosting+DNS, which i any dont think is a very good idea [takking all these from 1 company only]

but one thing is there that the resellers purchase high volume hosting from a big hosting company then give it at higher prices to people and everything is so private that we simply don't know who is a company and who is a reseller!

i guess dat it is not very diffcult to find out who is a re-seller

because ICANN has this list of authorised domain registrars.

so if a domain sellerrs name is not in the list then v can b sure that he is a re-seller [i think]

The following companies have been accredited by ICANN to act as registrars in one or more TLDs:

GoDaddy {DIGIT's fave} is featured in the list

Reseller hosting is different from reseller domain.
With Reseller hosting means, you can have your own hosting business. You can sell hosting under you, can make hosting packages and others.

Everyone can't reach to ICANN accredited registrar, secondly many registrar do not sell domain on retail they sell it via reseller only. Morreover reseller can give more personalised service then registrar.

But actually the registrat/reseller I bought domain provided me my domain at much lesser costs than GoDaddy !! now it's a very small company whereas GoDaddy is much big compared to it. I dont understand how they can give as such low costs then

U need to keep eye on promo code. Godaddy have some promo code, which they release often. Few days ago I got a promo code by mail from Godaddy which was giving .com/org/net and other domain name for 1.99$

the price of a domain name would also depend on what features u will b provided

like WHOIS masking

number of POP3 ids u will be provided with the name

more the number of features you will b getting price will accordingly increase
