AFAIK you should have bought 1GB*2 RAM modules as it would increase system performance. As far as prices are concerned, I guess they are OK.

there are really no performance difference between 800 and 667 value rams yes if one can afford a performance 800 Mhz such as crosair or such then yeah
as if buying 2 GB single stick 667 at present, gives u a real flexibility Rs. 1800/- + TAX for kingstone 667 MHz 2 GB which in next few months would hit Rs. 1500/- mark and then u can add another 2 GB to make is 4 GB under dual channel
