Suggestions for spare PC?

I currently have a spare PC with me, a 2.4Ghz P4 with 2GB RAM, a 40GB HDD, nVidia geForce 4 graphics card. Now this is not currently in use, as I'm making use of a Compaq Laptop, a Dell Laptop and a fairly powerful AMD based PC. Now I'm wondering what to do with the spare PC. I thought of setting it up as a server, but any suggestions on how that would be useful to me? What else cud I do with it? (I'm not selling it...) Any way to use the processing power of that PC in addition to my present desktop?

reduce the ram, use onboard(if available) and use it as a download rig.
Or, you can make it a linux based headless remote desktop operated server.
you can also try doing time consuming tasks like DVD ripping, CD/DVD writing, etc which you wouldn't want to do on a high end system on that computer.

and as you have 4 systems now, try in-house lan gaming with family/friends.

I was planning on installing windows server 2003 on it, and setting it up as a file server for all my other computers. but I don't get how reducing the ram would effect its usage in any way?
