Default i need a good VPN client


i downloaded hamachi and its not as good as i thought it would be.
my main aim is file transfer with at least 4-5 friends.

please suggest me a good one and it needs to be linux campatible( we use windows and linux)

I use Cisco VPN client and it seems to give no problems. you could try that?

i found it when i googled.
it looked, but i wanted to know from users.
so how fast is it?
and data transfer on VPN depends on what?
cause i used "hamachi" and i could not copy the whole folder of 60MB.
i am BSNL 2MB user. so from 2am - 8am it just could get 40MB or so.
