Default Western Digital 120 problem


weird problem here i bought a western digital 120gb external hdd today the freaking problem is taht it is not working on my desktop but works fine on laptops

i tried xp & vista both on my desktop it doesnt work but it works on both xp and vista based laptops ... no drivers are required and are not bundled with the hdd i searched the net and couldnt find em either

what is u r desktop USB version ??

even if it is 1.1 external HDDs have support for that too I guess.

are other USB devices working well ??

everything was working i even got this thing to work ... charan thanks

i connected it to the back of my desktop ... thats a really very weird solution

^^ they are front usb ports dont have enough power to drive the hdd imusing the front usbs for pen drives and ipod

and also tell me one thing does your windows detect them as individual removable drives??
