What is Remote desktop login

Hello friends
I have a 2 system connected on Lan with broad band connection.
I use computer1 ,I want to know that can I use computer2 wihtout siting on that computer. (just by stting on comp1 ). I can operate computer2 from computer, Is it possible, If yes then plz tell me the procedure. I also want to know about Remote Desktop Login

I have gone through ur tutorial. Really it was nice Thank u, But I have some doubts.

I have successfully tried this, but will it be used in context to Internet also.
I mean to say that can i get control on my friend system which is not connected to LAN.. We both use internet can I log in his computer using ur s/w.

One more doubt can I hide this program (VNC server)so that no one knows that VNC is running or not, and I VNC viewer get control on server, if yes plz tell me

^^ yes its possible to use VNC over internet if you know the IP address of your friends system.

2. AFAIK you cannot hide the icon because it will cause a security risk. when ever a VNC session is connected the icon will change to black indicating that the system is controlled remotely.
