I feel theres a virus problem....see if "show hidden files" settin is workin...checkout if theres sum suspicious folder in ur windows drive like "ntdetect1" "ntde1ect" etc.....scan with a good antivirus...schedule a boot time scan.

Must be a spyware/virus doing that.
What i suggest is download Kaspersky Internet Security 7 ( 30-day trial) and run a FULL SYSTEM SCAN. and just quarantine or remove the threats detected.Hope this helps

What exactly happens when you press Ctrl+Alt+Delete???

Task Manager appears and then disappears or you get a message like this "Taks Manager has been disabled by the administrator"

????

if ur TASK MANAGER has been disabled by ur administrator...u can re-enable it by group policy.....enter gpedit.msc in run menu den goto user-configuration>administrative templates>system>ctr+alt+del options>open task manager properties & set it "not configured".. & frm nw on ur TASK MANAGER will open up smoothly...

I knew that it will be appearing and disappearing. Your computer is infected by
this: http://www.greatis.com/appdata/d/s/svvchost.exe.htm. It has happened with my school computers a lakh times.

Have a scan from NOD32 3.0 or Kaspersky 7.........
