My PC gets Hanged Up

When i play games or watch movies in my Pc, my Pc gets hanged up, lags or else it gets restarted again and again

I have also unchecked " automatic restart" option under mycomputer>properties>advanced>settings

Earlier 2-4 months before, i was not having any kind of problem
Please tell me what to do??

It may be because of naughty viruses..Or due to some hard ware problem....

Its heating problem dude, i think. Check the heat sink of processor as well as clean up its fan and all others in your system. Check your power supply's fan also. Have you added any new hardware? if yes then make sure your power supply can handle that, because when you play games or watch movie or anything, for that matter, that uses processor and graphics card heavily, both these components start drawing more power. Processors and Graphics card run in a low power mode for desktop applications. I think that is the reason you are getting problems, secondly it could be caused by overheating. Post here after you try these steps. Ok.

Open your tower, disconnect it from power and mouse and all, remove your ram modules GFX if any take a vacume cleaner and blow it on the mobo make sure you are not too close to it and the CPU, if you can dismantle the CPU fan and the heatsink and use the vacume on it(Blow) make sure all the dust is gone and all the web kind of thing that gets stuck to it, use a dry brush to finish the job. Do the same to your power supply, also check if the CPU fan is working finely. Put it back and i think your problem might be solved

well, i'll tell my story with windows xp which i was using last January. I was passionate about games. but my system used to hang a lot. i just got this avast and scanned and to my astonishment, it remove 20 viruses, 40 trojans & 2 adwares & 1 spyware.

20 viruses, 40 trojans & 2 adwares & 1 spyware.

how did u manage to get so many viruses, trojans, adwares and spywares.
