I Have an upgraded COMPAQ PRESARIO 5000 with the foll config...
Intel Pentium 3 ...1 Ghz
Intel 810E Chipset with 2x AGP..4 PCI slots...
320 Mb RAM ( 256+64)
100 gb HDD ( 20Gb 5400rpm ,80 Gb 7200 rpm)
Compaq Mv540 Monitor..
OS-
Windows Me
windows XP Professional

I know that my AGP is only 2x

but... please can u suggest me some card..
Howz Geforce Mx4000...i tink it is 2/4/8x 128 mb....rite?
Can u all temme if it is compatible and also suggest me any other card with/without its approx prices....please...

You should be fine with anything between Geforce 2 and 4. I reckon 4x may not be backward compatible with 2x slots - reason - not enough voltage on 2x slot. Not sure though, just a guess.

I had a similar problem upgrading my Compaq Presario in the year 2000.
Ended up buying a new system altogether.
