Default SATA2 with SATA1


I am plannin to buy a 300GB hdd,my motherboard is 915..so basically supports SATA1...can i connect a SATA2 drive...I hv heard tat it will work at sata1 speeds..

if ur mobo does not accept ur SATA2 HDD as it is, you can use d jumper settings to make d new HDD work like a SATA1 hdd

Yups SATA3Gb/s is backward compatible with SATA1.5Gb/s.
I myself use that way..

yes you can use SATA2 hard disk on SATA 1 supported motherboard.

They sud give..if they dont than buy.Also remember to buy SATA power cable.
