SATA HDD Issue

I got a Seagate Sata 160 GB HDD. Its just 3 month old. I dual boot between XP and Ubuntu GG.

Problem is the HDD out of no where stops responding. Mainly in XP only. And I have hard reboot.

I heard SATA has some issues with dual boot is this correct? If yes any solution for this?

^^Is it the OS or the HDD which stops responding?
If this doesnt happen in Ubuntu then i think its a problem with Windows XP.
