Question External HDD to buy.


guys, please suggest some external hdd..... i am planning buy today evening on SP road....

please specify the price tags too.... and i am looking for a 160 GB one..

I will only recommend Western Digital.
One of my friend owns WD external hard disk. Transfer rate is around 1GB/min

u cud go 4 a WEstern digital Passport WDXMS1600

shud get d 8MB cache version 4 around 5.5k and d 16MB 4 around 1K more

instead get a normal hdd say 350gb & get a external casing 4 that .......

u endup saving money with lotta hdd space .......

^yea, but laptop hdd and ext casing wont need external power supply and cost less

But one thing is sure, if you want rugged hdd and wanna beat it black and blue (use it roughly) then nothing beats an external moulded hdd (the ones like wd passport etc.).

The most fragile ones are desktop hdds enclosed in external casing followed by laptop hdds in casing (laptop hdds can withstand more shock than desktop ones for obvious reasons) and the sturdiest ones are the moulded ones.

Abhi, if you goto S.P.Road check out the shops there. You will find moulded ones in other brands too.

Price of 160 GB WD external hard disk is around 4.5 K in delhi.
