Where to place the second RAM?

I purchased another 1GB RAM for my computer (configuration in my signature). Where should I place this second RAM, whether in any of the remaining three slots or nearest to the first RAM. The first RAM is nearest to the Processor. Both are DDR2 533MHz RAM.

if your motherboad support dual channel..........than make combination as:
1-3 OR 2-4 slots.

I think it's 1-2 and 3-4 for AMD mobo's

To be precise, you have to insert RAM in same colored slot.

I have never used AMD based mother board.
Please refer to manual of motherboard for dual channel configuration.

@ravi_9793 Thanks for the info of Dual Channel concept. I never knew that RAM placement depends on it too.

Put the two RAM's in two blue colored slots or in two black colored slot. I prefer the blue ones
