What to Buy for 1k?

i have 1k to spend on my PC , Guys what u think is best for my pc?

my config is as follows
AMD 3500+ 2.2Ghz
512MB DDR RAM
Motherboard (Stuck with DDR, But has PCI-E)
All Regular things
300GB HDD

and also , is that possible tha i can get 2.5" HDD >5 GB with Portable Case (or anything) and use it like Portable HDD?

Just upgrade your RAM.

2.5" Hard Disks less than 5GB will be very difficult to find. And also the casing will itself charge you Rs.400.

A gud headsphone? Or an entry 2.1 speaker?
A gud PSU, or another 512mb ram.
it depends on ur need.
If u were a gamer, then invest for a gaming mice or KB.

i occasionally play Games i would never play NFS Pro Street , Crysis Etc.
i *will* mostly Play Sims 2 Guiter Hero 3 , Spider Man 3

and i want to Play games like GTA SA and Splinter Cell Pandora tomorrow to run at highest settings

Remember my monitor is 1024x768 i never exceed resolution above 800x600
these resolutions are fine as i have 15"

and regarding money , me and my brother collected 2k Rupees by robbing a bank (just kidding) and i dont think my father will give more than 2k for buying a thing that i already have to play just "GAMES" .

he says u r PC plays games na , so why use Graphic Card

Assuming a pcie slot on ur mobo....
get a 512mb ddr (1.2k)
get a 8400GS 256mb card (2.8 to 3.2 K) {depending on where u stay}


Still its 4.4k so u stil have a room of about 6k for anythin else or jus save it

if u get any better card like 8500GT or something for arnd 4k then get that( not sure of 8500GT price)

hell no. not an 8500gt. YOu can get 8600gt for 5.5k now. 8500gt is just waste of money.

@max_demon, I think you have DDR 400 RAM.
Transcend 512MB DDR400 price is Rs.1400

Best thing you can do is get a 512MB RAM.

yes. even if you get 8600GT, a 512mb ram will be a serious bottleneck for playing games.
