Default In My cyber Cafe i want some sicurity Setting Help...???


My Dear All Friends

I have a Cyber cafe..!!

I have a 10 PCs

One computer Is server In that Win 2000 Server Os.

remainaing 9 pcs have Win 2000 Pro

all computer have a 40 GB with 2 NTFS Partation.

Now i want in clint pc people only surf net they can not access my drive
for saving data give them only one folder for saving there data...!!

And they can not change my network Ip or another setting..!!

i think this problem is solve in my user account...!!


in that he can see network setting but can not change..!!

but how can i give him right to do not delete my drive Data (C:,D

he/she can only see only one folder...!!

so pls. help dear..!!

well there are 2 ways to do it..

1. Setup domain on Win2k Server and using active directory and control all the machines from server (but for that you should have some good knowledge of network and all)

2. In each machines set one user accounts with group policies defined by the administrator..

to define group policies do this..

start - run - write gpedit.msc

set permissions in the User Configuration

and the last option is do set security settings of each folder by right clicking on drive and disallow others to read or write the drive or folders..

As an easy way out make file system NTFS and apply necessary permissions

But Dear i know how i have to do on server ..!!

and i know in win 2000 pro user can not change network setting and many more thing but user can delele my system files or in D: drive my imp data also so

HOW can i protect my C: And D: Which is in NTFS from USER..!!

right click on drive
click on Security tab..
set the permissions for users in it...

it should do your job..

There was a software in digit whic was build only for cyber cafe owners...

It sould do the job...

Just google it!!!

My Dear u r right but it is possible in Win 2000 Server but

i can not get security tab in my Win 2000 Pro os and partation even NTFS

so how can i make security in my win 2000 Pro in NTFS Partation

tools - folder options - view - uncheck the option "Enable Simple File Sharing"

once u have unchecked it..
it shall show u the security tab..

My Dear Have u know ..!! How can i secure my Web cam ..!!

i mean my clint can not open my web camera even if it is with system..!!

if u know then give me solution or

IS it possible ..!! that i can protect my some hardware that user can not

use..!!

hi prakash,
actually install the firewall on server and block unnecessary ports..
kerio winroute firewall is very good for network..
