What mobo r u using ? I hv Intel 810e based mobo and it can only detect 1 optical storage device. I tried to install both the writer and th cd-rom,but th cd-rom could not be detected.

hey claw, that's strange !

I use a 810 motherboard, and used to have both CD-RW drive and CR-ROM drive plugged into it before my CD-ROM drive went bust some months back.

both the drives used to work fine together.

try Right Clickling on My Computer And then Click on properties go to Device Manager And then try to Expand the Cd-Rom Drive Icon and see if it is detected.

check the jumper settings in you CD Drive.

Also check that you have enabled Automatic detection of IDE drives in BIOS.
