rm files and converters??? queries

hi ppl... there r certain queries m luking an ans for.

i use real mediaplayer, quick time n vlc for playing video files... thse players play all the possible files. but i read in other threads abt k-lite n ffdshow as universal players... i wl chk tat out

lately i downloaded a .rm extension song file. it played in real media player. but wat amazed me was the size... 552kb!!! nomarlly an mp3 song file is of 4-5mb. it seems .rm are highly compressed file.... it tat true?? so does it means low quality for .rm files??

suggest me any good converters from .rm to mp3??
n does converting files to uncompressed extensions increases the quality along wt size??

also.. there r video files which wen i play in powerDVD n then on VLC... the picture colour is majorly different. watching in VLC the picture colour quality is not impressive compared to tat in powerDVD...i download avi muvi files from net. it plays in VLC and the picture quality isnt gud. so can u suggets any player tat displayas better picture quality for avi files??

also, finally any universal converter from any file to any file???

jst downloaded 'ffdshow'. workd gr8 4 me. nw i can play avi files in powerdvd... thnx ppl

bt can som1 help me to play .rm n divx files in winamp??

If you have installed K lite then WMP plays .avi files smootly with good quallity...I use Jet Audio for playing DVD files... It rocks...

i installed ffdshow... tat has eased up a lot of problms... thnx nway for ur advice

bt still i want help to play .rm n divx files in winamp. it gets irritating to play these song files in diff players..
