Default Missing CONTROL PANEL


one of my friend pc has developed strange problem
Whenever he tries to open control panel the screen flashes for a second taskbar & every other icon are lost after 2,3seconds destop appear again but control panel never opens
can anyone help me...

Ok the explorer.exe crashes, this is what it looks like to me.

The solution, install SP2, to get rid of this problem.

Control Panel may not open if any of the .CPL File is damaged. .CPL files are the Control Panle Applets that you see inside the Contol Panel.
For this you have restore all the .CPL files from the Windows Setup CD.

Which Windows OS you are using? Check this Microsoft KB for the repair steps, that corresponds to your OS.
