Torrent Issue

I am trying to download a movie using the U torrent Software. The movie has more than 650 seeds but when i am downloading it says. 17 of 18 connected and max it has got to 20 of 26 connected. And then in brackets it shows 689 is swarm. Now as you can see so many seeds are available why does my software not connect to many of the seeds and so that i get better download speeds. What do i do then make my s/w connect to maximum seeds.

In utorrent go to Preference/ BitTorrent... And increase the number of Global and maximum number of connections to something like 50.

Most probably you are chocked... It is not possible for every peer to share data with every other connected peer at the same time.When there are too many leechers the network becomes easily congested. So choking is used to limit that congestion, and to help make sharing faster. Choking is also used to make sharing fairer to all, by ensuring that peers who upload more data faster to others get more data uploaded to them. So the more you upload, the more you can download from other peers. And the less you upload, the more likely you are to be choked.
