HELP:-->DVD is Not read but CD is read in DVD ROM in RedHat8

My dear Friends

In my system RedHat 8 is install now till now i m using cd-rom for my cd disk reading.

but before few days i buy and install Sony DVD rom in my system to read DIGIT DVD and install some software which r given in DVD but my this DVD drive READ all CD medai in RedHat 8 but i can not read DIGIT DVD in that sony DVD rom so which software or driver i have to install in RedHat 8 .

Help me ...!!!

ok not sure how u run kudzu from inside xwindows , but what u could do is , remove ur drive , boot into linux , kudzu will ask if u wanna configure/remove drive , choose yes . not attach the device again and kudzu will again as for the same option and hopefully , it might be detected as a dvd drive as well . u can try this till some linux guy here has a better solution

try installing apropriate software for reading DVDs in LINUX that came with RED HAT DISTRO

mount \dev\cdrom

actualy cd disk is automount but dvd is not auto mount so i have use this command and it is read ..!!

now is there any setting to auto mount DVD disk..!!
