Question Unknown Add/Remove Program

I have seen on add/remove program on Winxp, that my add/remove program contain 4-5 unknown software which i not installed at this time, yes i agree that i have installed these software on previous time, but i format the whole disk and installed a fresh copy of WinXP.

But these software is still was there. If i try to remove from add/remove they give the error "Please insert a disk to uninstall these program", but i don't have a disk righnow. How should i remove these program from add/remove, there is any way to remove it.

Please check the screenshot. Top one is Alcohol that the name was not appear.

Do ur XP install cd is a modded one. I mean is it created with some softwares that can add additional softwares in the Base XP CD image like BartPE etc. ?

If that is true then u have to install it from a original XP CD (no piracy here ) to avoid installing those extra stuffs.

Open regedit and goto:

Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Under this key, you'll get several other keys. Each key represents a software entry which you see in Add/Remove programs list. So delete any key which you want to not show in list.

Another (easier) method to perform the same above is to use CCleaner!
