Apple.com Down?

Looks like www.apple.com is down.. cannot ping , and none of the browsers are able to load it.

is it really down?

apple.co.in says

Now I am in a hotel for few days. Here it's Wi-fi Internet with a speed of around 800kbps. I will be moving to apartments Sunday. I used to get around 4-5Mbps speed in the same apartments during my previous visit.
