cannot connect via vnc

Hi

I've used RealVNC for sometime now to connect to my friends pc. Now however I cannot via VNC. I cannot even ping his PC. My ISP is BSES broadband. I can surf the net okay. Others can connect to me via VNC.

Whats causing this? Any ideas ?

if you cant ping him ..

then the problem doesnt lie in vnc ..
its with the connection

check if the other guy has firewall ..

No, he does not have a firewall. I'm using BSES broadband and he is on
Hathway. One more point, he can ping me. He can connect to my PC via VNC.

Since I have a Linux /Win98 dual boot. I checked that the ping doesnt work even in Linux.

Any ideas whats going on ?
