Why not use the primary slave connector on the ide cable (assuming that your system has a single hdd connected as primary master)

so u wanna install 3 drives not 2 ?

anyways if u have only one hdd then this is possible tho i dunno why u would want soo many drives

anyways connect the dvd rom as the primary slave
the dvd writer as secondary master and cdrw as secondary slave

since ur mobo is most probable to have only 2 ide connectors u can connect max of 4 IDE drives .. that is 2 per channel

Even i thought why there should be any problem in installing 2 drives...

Anyways this is the way u connect HDD's and optical drives...
Primary Master - Hard Disk [mandatory]
Primary Slave - Hard Disk OR Optical Drive
Secondary Master - Optical drive
Secondary Slave - Optical Drive

So in the primary slave u can add in ur third optical drive.

just would like to add a point

connect that drive to your primary slave that you intend to use least
i hope you know the fact that the data transfer from one ide channel to other is faster than from two drives on the sam ide channel

I think u can have ur config like this !!

Code:
Primary Master=HDD
Primary Slave=DVD-Rom Drive
Secondary Master=DVD Writer
Secondary Slave=CD-RW
Reason for this kind of setup.....

HDD in Primary Master is a must as its has OS in it.

The reason why I have kept the config like this is for the Bandwidth...

If you write to a DVD or CD using ur DVD-Writer or CD-Writer the data is going to come from either HDD or DVD-ROM drive. In case of CD-CD or DVD-DVD copy the source is again DVD-ROM Drive.

So there is more bandwidth for the source drive as well as the Destination writer. So no need to worry about the Data Underrun errors or slow recording due to lack of bandwidth between the devices !!

Be carefull about jumper settings. If they are not proper, things will not work to your satisfaction.

The jumper setting are generally available on the top of the drives.

Make sure you refer them and then connect the IDE cables.

If your OS doesn't boot, then remove the device in the Primary Slave and then try again.
