Default Stuck between Nowhere(hung PC)

have recently got a system assembled with the following configuration:
AMD 64bit 2800+ processor/ASUS K8VX Mother board/40 GB SATA HDD/LG combo/64 MB XFX NVIDIA graphics card/256MB-400 HZ Hynix RAM.
I am facing following problems:

1. The speed of the PC is increadbly slow when reading CD..
2.LG combo sometimes reads the CD I insert...sometimes it doesn't.
3. Unable to make a data disc using Nero...While wriring It says"insert
disc" while the disc is inside it...(I even tried using different discs).
4. cant open anything when A: drive is reading
5. My Computer often says (not responding.)
6. Task Manager takes ages to open.
7. Often my system hangs even if task manager says 2% CPU usage.

Please suggest remedial measures.

Their 2 ways to get rid if it =>
1. Their could be some virus on your computer, so get some good antivirus and do a virus scan.
2. If the problem still occures then backup all your DATA and format and then reinstall everything again !!!

are you using the IDE drivers provided in the motherboard CD? This might be the cause. Use native Windows IDE drivers.

Hope this helps!

If it was the problem of IDE drivers then hit system would not have booted only !!!

EDIT : corrected by RACHIT. My fault . I admit.

REgarding the soln, check the cables if they r loose. My DVD Rom used to stop responding sometimes but worked alright otherwise. I removed the cable and then reinserted it, problem got solved.

2nd option is to PM theraven, he might solve ur problem.

download and run spybot s&d and adaware, and remove anything they find. also install the motherboard chipset drivers from the motherboard cd, and enable DMA on the cd drive.
