Default Icon File's thumbnails


accidently deleted the .ico file extension from folder options, now i can't see the thumbnails of these icons. Please help me restore it so that i would be able to see the thumbnail of icon files. Tried X-Setup, TweakUI and hacked into registry a little bit. Nothing helped. Using windows 98SE

Just Add (type) .ico extension manually
It should solve your problem

He He He,....... You think it's that much easy(just like that). If it had been that much easy i would'nt have posted it on this forum. Lets see who can answer it correctly. although tried your method but it did'nt help. thankx

Well dude the best method will be to install any icon editing software as it will automatically add the .ico extention when it is being installed !!!

Add the ICO file extension to File Types in Folder Options and navigate to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\icofile\DefaultIcon
and make sure the (Default) value data is %1.
