Help Needed Urgently

Hey I have a laptop that I want to sell but I afraid that the person whom i'll sell the laptop can recover my personal data and pictures that was previously stored in my hard disk by using any recovery software. So anyone Plz help me out and tell me about some software which can erase all the traces of data on my laptop hard disk so that it can not be recovered later by any one using any recovery software.

few months back i have found a software in digit dvd which deletes data from hdd so no one can recover it in any mean
