Default No plug and Play


Hi

I hav a problem with USB , when ever i plug in Flash drive i have to scan for new hardware it doesnt automatically show new drive or drive, plz help how to make it automatic.

I use winxp sp2 home.

Go to Device Manager and see if the driver for your USB especially USB 2.0 is installed or not. If not so try doing it.

Update your XP from microsoft website.

USB 2.0 comes pre installed with XP.
Don't worry about that.

I think there is something wrong in your system.
Please do full system scan with 1 antivirus and 2 antispyware.

ok. so wats the solution .. previously it was ok.. but after reinstalling windows i got this prob

Don't install using a hacked windows XP CD.You never know, what malwares n other unwanted script get installed with your XP.


Also, make sure you have atleast SP2 installed...........and If possible update your XP from microsoft website.

1. Have you tried the flash drive in all USB ports of the comp?
2. Have you tried other flash drives or MP3 players or external HDs with the USB ports? What about other USB devices like Printers, scanners, etc..?
3. Is your computer up to date with the patches?

there is a patch available in microsoft's website for usb 2.0, to install it, try that

but it should be installed in ur pc, anyway try that and post ur replies
