AUTOEXEC.NT is used to initialize the MS-DOS environment unless a different startup file is specified in an application's PIF.

There will be some back ups available. so just search for it. and replace with the new one. Probably the useful commands in there are
REM Install CD ROM extensions
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\mscdexnt.exe

REM Install network redirector (load before dosx.exe)
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\redir

REM Install DPMI support
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\dosx

if u couldnt find a backup file just create a file with these entries.

Default autoexec.nt

This error message started with XP SP2. This is also known as 16 Bit Subsystem" error. To resolve the issue download the XP_FIX.exe from the following link and run it.

http://www.visualtour.com/downloads/xp_fix.exe.
After that just run the software.

note: Make sure you do not restart the computer before installing your desired software.
